Based in Los Angeles, this duo has gained global attention for their "Jazz-adjacent" musical style, which deconstructs jazz idioms and blends them with ambient and psychedelia.
Sam Gendel utilizes saxophone and wind controllers to create a unique tone with ethereal soundscapes produced through effects.
He has collaborated with versatile artists such as Ry Cooder, Mach-Hommy, Blake Mills, Laurie Anderson, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Vampire Weekend, and Louis Cole, engaging in activities that transcend genres.
Sam Wilkes, on the other hand, is a bassist/producer with deep grooves and a genre-crossing sensibility.
Known as a reliable partner for Sam Gendel, Louis Cole/KNOWER, and Jacob Mann, he also supports a wide range of artists from pop to indie and R&B, including Chaka Khan, Mk.gee, Dijon, Rufus Wainwright, Maggie Rogers, Dean Blunt, Jacob Collier, and Dominic Fike.
